On behalf of the Friends of the Quonochontaug Grange (FOTQG), we want to thank you for your interest and support of the Grange facility.  Just two years ago the future of the Grange was in doubt and our community could have lost its historic, central gathering place.   To avert such a loss, neighbors and friends came together, formed FOTQG and, with the cooperation of the Dunn’s Corner Fire District (DCFD), assumed responsibility for the day-to-day management of the Grange.

At the outset, FOTQG performed deferred maintenance and made urgent repairs. During our 2nd year, we upgraded the bathrooms and completed other improvements designed to make the Grange a more desirable community meeting place .FOTQG membership dues, donations and DCFD financial support made all of this possible. We are very grateful for this ongoing endorsement of our efforts to restore the Grange facility and stabilize its future.

Our plan for the Grange is now entering a third phase – one designed to expand both its available uses and attractiveness to more people and groups. To complete this phase, a dedicated fund of $50,000 to pay for the following is required:

•Updating all of the audio-visual equipment in the main level;

•Retro-fitting the old kitchen to create a new “serving” kitchen; and

•Replacing the worn and antiquated tables and chairs.

Our goal is ambitious and requires a major a financial commitment.  FOTQG will seek grants and other sources of institutional funding to support this goal. To underscore that effort, we must demonstrate that the core financial support for these improvements comes from the community that will benefit most from the upgrades.  And here is where you come in.

Our Board has authorized a dedicated campaign drive to fund this Phase 3.  Over a two-year period we are asking for pledges and one-time gifts.   Every gift is welcome no matter the amount. Of course, major leadership gifts will help us immensely and we are happy to speak with you about such a gift.

As always, we sincerely appreciate all of the support we have received from our community and caring people like you. We hope you will consider a donation to support his dedicated campaign.  For a donation form, Click Here.
